Four people, including an Orange County Sheriff’s deputy, were rushed to the hospital after a serious crash, according to the Orlando Police Department.

Police say there were eight passengers in a four-door sedan and one deputy in a patrol car when they crashed on Rio Grande Avenue.

Investigators said the deputy’s patrol car collided with the sedan and that deputy became trapped. Rescue crews arrived on scene, but were not able to free the deputy for 45 minutes, according to police. He was not seriously injured.

Police said three people in the sedan, including a child, were taken to local hospitals for either minor injuries or as a precaution. Three other people, who were in the sedan, fled after the crash, according to the investigators.
