For Repairs.
If your vehicle will be repaired (meaning if it is not a "total loss"), then you are legally entitled to a rental vehicle for the period that your damaged vehicle is actually in the shop and undergoing repairs (and/or in the shop while waiting for repair parts that have been ordered to be delivered). See Meakin v. Dreier, 209 So.2d 252 (Fla. 2nd DCA 1968). So, if your vehicle will be repaired, and if you want a rental vehicle, then simply put your damaged vehicle in the repair shop. If your vehicle is still driveable, you are not entitled to receive a rental vehicle (or to be reimbursed for a rental vehicle) until then.
