If You Bought 'Collision' Auto Insurance For Your Own Car, Then You Have A Choice As To Which Auto Insurance Company To Use For Your Vehicle Claim.
If you do not have "collision" insurance on your own auto
insurance policy, then skip the rest of this section (because it does
not apply to you) and go to paragraph number 34. But, if you bought
"collision" insurance for your own car, then you have a choice as to
which insurance company to use for your vehicle claim only
(but, not for your medical bill or lost wage claim, for which you have
no choice to make). If you have collision insurance, you may use your
own "collision" insurance, or you may use the "property damage"
liability insurance on the other side. You may even use both insurance companies for different aspects on the same
vehicle claim. For example, you could have your "collision" auto
insurance company repair your vehicle, but have the insurance company
on the other side pay for a rental vehicle during those repairs
(although at least one insurance company disputes this).
