Is your office responsible for coordinating my medical care?
No. If you ask, we will provide you with the names and telephone
numbers of reputable (non-insurance company) doctors who have an office
in your area (and who accept auto insurance without demanding payment
of any deductible or co-payment until your case settles, or until you
abandon your case, whichever comes first). But, that is all we do (and
that is all that we should do). We do not schedule your appointments
for you. We do not arrange for your transportation to and from your
doctor. We do not act as a "middleman" between you and your doctor's
office. We are not "partners" with your doctor. Obviously, we want
you to be happy with your doctor and with your medical treatment.
However, if you are unhappy with your doctor or with your medical
treatment, and if you ask us, we will try to help you locate another
reputable (non-insurance company) doctor in your area with whom you'll
be more happy. You are, of course, free to locate a doctor on your own
(but, beware of insurance company doctors who are much more likely to
destroy your eligibility to be paid for your injuries, and beware of
greedy, unscrupulous doctors who demand that you pay them any
deductible or co-payment up front out of your own pocket before
you receive any settlement money from the other side from which you
would otherwise pay that deductible or co-payment to the doctor).
