hired us for, then your first lawyer is legally entitled to a refund of
money he or she spent on your behalf plus an hourly fee for the time he
or she spent working on your case. You are legally required to pay your
first lawyer out of your share of the settlement money after we have
deducted our legal fees and costs first. However, although we are not
required to, when the total amount your first attorney seeks is small,
and when our client has been cooperative with our office, we sometimes
decide to pay your first attorney out of our share of the settlement.
However, we do not promise you that we will agree to do this in your
