Exception to the Rule #1 - (To avoid damage to credit)
However, if and only if, your good credit is threatened, you may use
your regular (non-auto) medical insurance or similar benefits to pay
(only) those unpaid portions of your medical bills for medical care that you have already received that are never paid
by auto insurance on your side (such as any deductible, or the 20%
share that the other side may owe to you as part of any settlement
later in the case). Thus, using your regular (non-auto) medical insurance to pay ONLY those unpaid portions of your medical bills for medical care that you have already received might be necessary in order to protect your good credit (in those rare cases that do not timely settle).
(Hospitals, emergency room doctors, and ambulance companies do not like
to wait for untimely settlements to receive payment for the rest
of what they are owed, if anything, and they will eventually damage
your credit if they do not get paid.) Contact us immediately if your
good credit is threatened or damaged (whether or not you have regular
(non-auto) medical insurance or similar benefits).
