If you use any regular (non-auto) medical insurance or similar
government benefits to pay any of your medical bills, you will probably
have to pay that money back to your medical insurance company (or
governmental agency) later OUT OF YOUR SHARE
of any settlement money you might get in your case or (if any money is
left) out of your auto insurance benefits that you should have used to
pay those medical bills in the first place. In that sense,
the money that comes from your regular (non-auto) medical insurance (or
government-type medical benefits) is only a "loan". So in the end,
your regular (non-auto) medical insurance or similar government
benefits do not "pay" a larger percentage of your medical bills
than auto insurance would ultimately pay, because medical insurance
companies and governmental agencies only "loan" you money to pay your
medical bills, and ultimately they "pay" nothing at all. So, if you
get a "loan" from your regular (non-auto) medical insurance or
governmental-type medical benefits to "pay" your medical bills, then
you "yourself" ultimately pay your own medical bills out of your share
of any settlement you might get or (if any money is left) out of your
auto insurance benefits that you should have used to pay those medical
bills in the first place! See paragraph #85.
