Preserve your rights under your regular (non-auto) medical
insurance or government medical benefits (such as Medicaid, Medicare or
Workers' Compensation) by filing a timely claim, but as long as you
have it available, use ONLY AUTO insurance to actually pay at least 80%
of your medical bills and 60% of your lost wages.
This means, so long as you have available funds left in auto insurance coverage to pay (at least 80% of) your medical bills, do not use
your regular (non-auto) medical insurance or government medical
benefits (such as Medicaid, Medicare or Workers' Compensation) to pay
any of your medical bills and lost wages (even if you incorrectly
believe your regular (non-auto) medical insurance or similar government
benefits would pay a larger percentage of your medical bills than auto
insurance would ultimately pay). If you were hurt on the job, read
paragraph #10.
