No. Unless you were at fault, your auto insurance rates WILL NOT
increase for using your own auto insurance to pay your medical
expenses, wage loss, mileage, yard work or house work, vehicle repair,
total loss (sale), towing, or storage claims (there are several laws
with heavy penalties which prevent that rate increase from occurring).
Florida Law # 626.9541(0)(3)(4)(5). It is true that all auto insurance rates always go up for everybody anyway (whether or not an insurance claim is made), but in Florida, your auto insurance rates never
go up just because you made an auto insurance claim (that is a legal
myth). The one and only reason your auto insurance rates will ever disproportionally increase (an increase that is more
than ordinary increases that are imposed upon all other customers with
the same household driving record) is being found at fault in causing
an accident (or getting speeding tickets, etc.) whether or not an insurance claim is made. This means it is being at fault in causing an accident or getting a ticket (not the insurance claim) that causes a disproportionate increase in your insurance rates (one that is more
than ordinary increases that are imposed upon all other customers with
the same household driving record). (Remember, in most cases if your
auto insurance company pays the vehicle claim (repairs or total
loss/sale), it gets its money back from the other side later anyway).
So, if you were not at fault, you will not suffer a disproportionate
increase in the cost of auto insurance (nor will your household
relatives, or the persons who owned the vehicle you were in, unless they or their driver were at fault). Florida Law # 626.9541 (o)(4)(5)(6).
